Human resources professionals with at least five years of experience in a director position are invited to apply for an open human resources director position at Sugar Bay Resort and Spa in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
The human resource director is responsible for administering the resort’s human resources functions, including employee guidance, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance assurance and workers’ compensation.
Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with Sugar Bay’s managers to ensure sensitive human resource matters are dealt with appropriately and meeting with employees to help the better understand their benefits, payroll and any other administrative issues. Through posting on various job boards and career websites and conducting interviews, he or she will also manage recruitment and onboarding, including following up on references, offering letters and putting new employees in the HRIS system.
The position requires strong communication skills, as the human resource director must be able to effectively work with employees throughout all levels of the organization. Applicants should also possess strong problem resolution skills and be familiar with payroll processing systems and benefits regulations.
Candidates with experience working with unions and experience working in the Caribbean are preferred.
