The State of Rhode Island is seeking a human resources technician.

Duties of the position include formulating preliminary classification recommendations, preparing exams for specified job competencies, reviewing exam applications, researching salary information, collecting data for use in contract negotiations, recruiting personnel, maintaining personnel records, processing specialized payrolls, coordinating workers’ compensation cases, monitoring FLMA cases, assisting with labor relations management policies, and reviewing HR legislation.

Prospective candidates must possess an associate’s degree with courses in education, HR management, public administration, psychology or closely related field, HR experience, or a combination of education and experience; strong communication and research skills; and knowledge of HR administration practices, principles and techniques.
