Regional charter school group taps Flores as vice president of HR

ResponsiveEd recently tapped 25-year human resources professional Mary Flores to serve as vice president of human resources for the nonprofit, which is one of the largest public charter school systems in the U.S.

According to ResponsiveEd, in her new post, Flores will lead the organization’s human resources including oversight, professional development, benefits, risk management and recruiting. 

“I am excited to be a part of an organization with a mission to provide hope to families looking for a quality education for their children,” Flores said in a news release. “As we continue to respond to the needs of the communities we serve, it is important to stay committed to the challenge of recruiting and developing the best educators possible.”

Flores previously served as human resources vice president and chief people officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. She also served with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas as chief operating officer. 

Flores is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she earned a bachelor’s of business administration. She is a member of the SHRM and Dallas HR and holds a lifetime certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Flores is also a Senior Certified Professional of Society for Human Resources Management.
