The nonprofit Adventist Health System’s headquarters are located in Altamonte Springs. It operates 23 hospitals, eight home-health facilities and six nursing homes in Florida. The health system was founded in 1973 to support Seventh-day Adventist-affiliated health organizations in the southern part of the country. It operates facilities in 12 states.
