Oregon-based OnPoint Community Credit Union recently appointed experienced industry professional Steve Leugers as its senior vice president and chief credit officer, joining the state’s largest credit union in Portland.

Leugers last served at Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Nusenda Credit Union as chief lending officer. He has also worked at Del Norte Credit Union, Westerra Credit Union and Elevations Credit Union. He brings over two decades of practice along with enthusiasm to his new post.

“I am honored to join a financial institution with the strong member focus, performance record and reputation that OnPoint has earned,” Leugers said. “I’m eager to invest my expertise and talents serving OnPoint members.”

Leugers earned a bachelor’s degree in public and environmental services from Indiana University and graduated from the Western CUNA Management School. He will collaborate with the OnPoint executive team including the company’s president and CEO Rob Stuart.

“Steve’s extensive background in credit, coupled with his proven record of leadership at high-performing credit unions across the West, is a strong asset for our members,” Stuart said. “We are excited about the talent and expertise Steve brings to the OnPoint family.”
