Real estate technology company Compass recently named Madan Nagaldinne its first chief people officer.

Nagaldinne will oversee benefits, compensation, staff recruiting, learning and development, and performance management.

“I believe the difference between a good company and a great one comes down to its people,” Nagaldinne said. “Attracting top talent, helping people experience their best possible selves at work, and empowering every employee to advance a worthy mission is the foundation of the most successful companies in the world. I’m impressed by what Compass has achieved in such a short amount of time and I’m excited by the opportunity to shape their people strategy at this formative stage in their growth.”

Nagaldinne has more than two decades of  human resources management experience. He was previously the chief people officer at health care technology firm Outcome Health. He has also served in HR positions at Amazon and Facebook.

“The incredible caliber of talent across technology, real estate, marketing and business has always been a differentiator for Compass, and Madan will help us accelerate the pace at which we attract and hire the best people,” Compass CEO Robert Reffkin said. “Madan understands how to meet the challenge that comes with being a hyper-growth startup: preserving a culture focused on community and collaboration while also rapidly scaling the company toward our mission of helping everyone find their place in the world.”
