Law firm King & Spalding is looking for a human resources generalist in Washington, D.C.

Duties of the position include generating job postings, conducting preliminary interviews, conducting background and reference checks, drafting and extending offer letters, preparing new hire paperwork and orientation packets, leading new employee orientation, conducting training programs for new hires, assisting with leave of absence administration, tracking worker’s compensation claims, answering employee benefit questions, promoting wellness programs, preparing termination paperwork, maintaining personnel files, reviewing employee issues and recommending corrective action, and planning HR and office social events.

Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree; strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; the ability to handle confidential information; and knowledge of the Washington, D.C. market, and basic labor laws/policies and procedures.

Preferred qualifications include at least four years of experience in a comparable position with a law firm.
