The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR), a Kansas
City Southern (KSC) subsidiary, recently appointed Janet Barr as vice president of human resources.
Barr has worked for the company for two years. In her new role, Barr will report directly to Senior Vice President of Human Relations Lora Cheatum.
“Janet brings a diverse background of disciplines and industries to the human resources function,” Cheatum said. “She is a great complement to the leadership team as we invest in the people and infrastructure to prepare for the company’s many long-term growth opportunities.”
Barr, who earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business administration at the University of Kansas, has more than two decades of experience, with an expertise in human
resources and labor relations. Having previously worked with HCA Physician
Services Group and Truman Medical Centers, her experience extends to the
railroad, health care and utilities industries.
KCSR is the primary U.S. holding of KCS and operates in the country’s central and south central regions.
