I’ve Been Vetted (IBV) recently launched a new automated
pass/fail employment background check service for employers that will allow
them to continually monitor their employees and contractors and avoid costly
lawsuits.
The company cited a recent sexual harassment case against
Uber that will require the company to pay a $10 million settlement due to insufficient
vetting as a sign that its new service can help companies save money through
prevention.
IBV’s service provides clients with a secured portal wherein they
receive pass/fail statuses on all employees on a customizable basis. Clients
are also able to access a full report on each employee to review as needed and
can review employee data by a range of criteria, including occupation, region
or status.
“IBV’s mission is to decrease crimes that occur when
employees and contractors come in contact with the public,”
Jo Lynn Clemens, CPCU, ARM, CEO at IBV, said. “We also seek to increase company profits by
preserving the reputation of the company while reducing defense and settlement
costs (the current average settlement for negligent hiring cases exceeds
$1 million without regard to associated defense costs). Our ideal customers include service
companies, caregivers, human resource recruiting firms and on-demand industries.”
