Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), a large American shipbuilding business based in Newport News, Virginia, recently announced two new appointments to its technical solutions department: Melanie Anderson as vice president of HR and Kristine DiMarco as communications director.

“Melanie and Kristine bring a wealth of experience and leadership to this growing organization, and we are delighted to have them on the Technical Solutions team,” said the department’s president, Andy Green, noting the company’s continued commitment to furnishing top quality programming and communications.

Anderson previously headed HR at KBRWyle following its acquisition of Honeywell Technical Solutions. She also served in HR leadership positions at the Boeing Co., Harris Corp. and Raytheon. Anderson earned a double bachelor’s degree in German and employment relations, as well as a master’s degree in labor relations and HR management, from Michigan State University.

DiMarco brings broad award-winning communications experience. She has worked at HII since 2004 and has supported the Technical Solutions team for the past year. Previously she worked at SRA International and for the Department of Defense. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from James Madison University in Virginia.

HII Technical Solutions serves government and private-sector clients internationally with fleet maintenance, remote systems, software, engineering solutions and training.
