Human Resource Executive magazine recently wrapped up its successful HR Technology China Conference at the Shanghai International Conference Center, a one-of-a-kind occasion in that nation attracting over 3,500 professionals from China, Europe and the U.S.

HR technology, leadership, study results and networking dominated the two-day show with over 70 exhibitors and more than 30 featured speakers. This year marks the event’s 20th anniversary.

“HR Tech China 2017 primary theme was the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence technologies and its use for human resources, talent acquisition, and talent management,” Rebecca McKenna, Human Resource Executive publisher, said. “With attendees from China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States the conference and expo was a global display of the latest technologies for Human Resources.”

McKenna praised the high engagement level among participants and noted their appreciation of new knowledge, while Trish McFarlane, who serves as vice president of HCM strategy and product management at Infor, called HR Tech China “an essential event for HR professionals in the world’s second-largest economy.”

HR Technology Conference program chair and HR Tech China host Steve Boese added that Shanghai was the perfect venue. Boese, McFarlane and Stanford University’s Jerry Kaplan served as keynote speakers.

“The Chinese market is embracing and adopting new, advanced capabilities in HR Tech at a rapid pace,” Boese said. “It is incredible to see the progress from the first year of the conference.”
