Fitbit Inc. recently named Ronald W. Kisling the company’s new chief financial officer.

Kisling, currently the company’s chief accounting officer, will replace William R. Zerella, who is leaving the company to become CFO of an autonomous vehicle technology startup.

As the new CFO, Kisling will report directly to CEO James Park.

“Ron has long been an important member of our senior leadership team and we will continue to benefit from his significant expertise in leading sophisticated finance organizations as we position Fitbit for its next stage of growth,” Park said. “We remain confident in the long-term future of Fitbit and look forward to partnering with Ron as we execute on our plan.”

Kisling initially served as the company’s CAO four years ago. With almost 35 years of financial leadership experience, he has already served as CFO at several public and private technology companies. Before joining Fitbit, Kisling was Nanometric’s CFO. He also held several senior executive roles in different companies including PGP Corporation, Saba Software and SPL Worldgroup.

Zerella has served as CFO for Fitbit since June 2014. During which time, the company sold more than 78 million devices with 25 million community users in 86 countries.

Park thanked. Zerella “for his countless contributions, including leading our successful IPO in 2015, guiding our worldwide expansion, and laying the foundation for our future success, and wish him all the best in his next endeavor.”
