The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF), cited as one of the best places to work in Connecticut, has appointed Elizabeth Ann Garti as the organization’s vice president for human resources.

Garti will lead the organization’s HR team to enhance the company’s policies regarding employee recruitment, diversity, professional development and work-life balance. In addition, she will play a major role in attracting and retaining the organization’s top talents in the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Governmental Accounting Standards Board, and FAF staff.

She will also lend a hand in identifying and appointing members to the FAF Board of Trustees and the standard-setting boards.

“We are very pleased to welcome Elizabeth to the FAF team,” FAF President and CEO Teresa Polley said. “Elizabeth has an impressive background in leadership development and recruitment programs, and her strategic counsel will be valuable as we enhance programs that continue to make the organization an employer of choice.”

Garti previously served as Pace University’s associate vice president. She has also worked with Lillian Vernon Corp. as senior human resources manager; at Caldor Inc. as human resources manager; and at United Parcel Service.

She holds both a bachelor’s degree in business management from Manhattanville College and a master’s degree in strategic human resources management from Pace University.
