ESCO Corp. seeks an HR business partner to support eight salaried and 70 hourly employees at its Portland, Oregon manufacturing location, reporting to the site manager and directing hiring, retention, and improvement with some travel.

The generalist will manage Oracle data systems and collaborate with teammates regularly, adapting tasks to meet priorities and demonstrating flexibility. Partnering with the site manager and leadership, the successful candidate will provide input, guidance and resources to ensure optimal outcomes in all HR areas.

He/she will multitask while overseeing administrative process, assisting with ESCO’s immigration initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employee and labor law; and while facilitating a safe, open work environment reflective of company values.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in HR, business or a related area; two years of progressive HR background in a manufacturing or corporate space; capacity to work in an industrial (foundry) environment, and availability to employees on different shifts.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is necessary; Oracle HRMS knowledge is a plus. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. permanently, independently of sponsorship. Approximately 10 percent of the generalist’s time will be spent traveling.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate strength in all aspects of HR process including leadership, relationships and workplace changes; the confidence to act as a mentor and coach; the candor to relate to others honestly and cooperatively, and comprehension of lean principles with an orientation towards continual improvement.

Over a century old, ESCO serves the mining and construction industries, manufacturing engineered metal wear parts and industrial components. This foundry operates on the principles of innovation, leadership, improvement, performance and sustainability.
