Door County government in Wisconsin needs HR generalist

The Door County government in Sturgeon, Wisconsin is looking for a full-time human resources generalist.

Duties of the position include assisting with the recruitment process, conducting training programs, assisting with orientations and the on-boarding process, administering employee benefits, administering leave of absence and worker’s compensation programs, and responding to employee inquiries.

Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR or related field; a valid Wisconsin driver’s license; at least five years of HR-related experience; at least one year of accounting course work or work related experience; strong communication and analytical skills; proficiency in creating and manipulating spreadsheets; the ability to handle confidential information; and knowledge of HR laws, regulations, procedures and best practices.

Preferred qualifications include PHR certification and advanced knowledge of HRIS report writing applications.
