Cox Automotive has named 11-year company senior level executive Mark Bowser as its executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Bowser, who will assume his post this month, will lead Cox’s finance  and strategy teams and several corporate functions as well as responsibility for NextGear Capital.

Bowser’s 30 years of experience includes working in a variety of areas for several Fortune 500 companies including in finance, operations, sales, marketing and business development.

“I have seen Mark in action during his tenure as CFO of Cox Communications,” Cox Automotive President Sandy Schwartz said in a press release. “He has been a valuable member of the leadership team and his expertise and fiscal discipline have been primary reasons for the consistently outstanding performance of that business. He is a strategic financial leader who will help Cox Automotive continue to strengthen our performance and position the business for long-term success in a fast-changing industry.”

Bowser became Cox Business’ vice president in 2006, leading the development to help serve a $7 billion market of business customers.
