Consulting services firm seeks HR generalist in Northern Virginia

HR Consulting services firm The LDM Group seeks a human resources generalist in Arlington, Virginia.
Duties include assisting in recruitment efforts, conducting orientation for new employees, coordinating workers compensation program, managing leave of absences, dealing with workers compensation issues, advising on salary offers and equity increases, conducting employee investigations, handling employee performance issues, providing support for all HR-related activities, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in HR management or related field; at least five years’ experience in a HR generalist or representative role within a distribution center, manufacturing plant, sales or DSD environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office and an HRIS system; strong communication, analytical, conceptual thinking and interpersonal skills; knowledge of basic HR laws and applications; and experience in change management, performance management, employee communications, recruitment and employee relations.
Applicants should also be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and self-manage projects.
Preferred qualifications include experience working in a union environment, as well as mediation/arbitration/grievance processes support.
