Embracing all employees in a first-time initiative, South Carolina’s cloud-based platform provider Benefitfocus Inc. recently revealed its new stock award program for workers, allowing the benefits of ownership to convey to every staff member.

The cash value of stock offerings is equivalent to approximately $2,000 in the form of a one-time unit, officials said.

“The Benefitfocus employees have been instrumental in creating our industry leading solution,” CEO and President Ray August said. “I am so proud of our employees and grateful for their commitment to our customers. I truly believe that when our employees flourish, our customers prosper, and that should drive value creation for our stockholders as well.”

Company spokespersons indicated the decision to initiate the offer will go a long way toward strengthening the company’s positive workplace atmosphere in alignment with its existing benefits, rewards and recognition platform as well as standard pay. Benefitfocus strives for continued status as “a leading employer and world-class company.”

Additionally, the grant will become available to each new full-time employee joining the firm in the future.

“I cannot think of a more fitting way to help all of our employees build their own lives and careers than putting ownership directly in their hands,” August said.
