Ballard named L.A.’s top human resources executive

The National Human Resources Association’s Los Angeles chapter (NHRA-LA) recently named media company tronc’s Cindy Ballard, who serves as senior vice president of HR, as the 2017 Los Angeles Human Resources Executive of the Year.

With newsrooms nationwide, tronc serves numerous major metropolitan national newspapers. Ballard’s role involves overseeing corporate culture, talent strategy, organizational structure and additional HR functions. With a background in HR leadership at media and advertising entities, she has helped firms transform their digital presence and direction.

“We are thrilled to award Cindy Ballard this prestigious award and recognize her for her outstanding leadership and dedication amongst the HR industry,” NHRA-LA president Andrew Agress said. “She is a leading example of professionalism and we are proud to add Cindy to the list of awardees … recognized for their leadership.”

Created in 1951, NHRA-LA strives to support professional development and leadership among Human Resource personnel throughout the greater Los Angeles region, providing programming and services to engage HR professionals throughout their entire career cycles.

The chapter also acknowledged Ballard’s fellow finalists, Arti Dhuper of Prime Healthcare and Tiffany Stith of Lawry’s Restaurants.
