Uniquely matching people with disabilities to employers welcoming diversity for the past 16 years, Illinois-based AbilityLinks recently revealed plans for a major website overhaul to increase user-friendliness and efficiency — plus an upcoming webinar event.

More navigable design with an improved aesthetic will render the site simpler to work with, enabling users to post resumes or job listings more easily.

AbilityLinks program director Kewn Skord relayed that as of May, a mere 20 percent of individuals with disabilities reported being employed compared to 70 percent of the general population. He recommended that companies, including federal contractors, become more aware of inclusion strategies via AbilityLinks’ resources.

To address this need, AbilityLinks will host a webinar on July 20 about navigating interviews for jobseekers, presented by staffing agency Advanced Resources and entitled “Ace the Interview, Land the Job.” Free registration is available at www.abilitylinks.org.

Previously, the firm hosted a webinar on promoting one’s online job application; content from that event is available at the organization’s website and includes real-life examples of successful job placement and a question-and-answer session with a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

Based in Wheaton, Illinois, AbilityLinks strives to match qualified individuals to employers who embrace diversity. This free, nationwide program has helped over 700 individuals find employment to date.
