International biopharmaceutical research firm AbbVie is offering paid internships for a 12-week-long summer program rich with both potential — including the chance to contribute to research — and benefits — including company-sponsored housing and transportation assistance.
The company will sponsor successful candidates for specialized tasks at its corporate headquarters located in Lake County, Illinois, just north of Chicago, for Summer 2018. Choices include talent and development, acquisition, rewards, employee relations, project management and business HR.
“You’ll do meaningful work that has a true impact on our business and patients, while also combining technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem solving,” company officials said.
Among potential advantages will be eligibility for career positions. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master’s degree program with a focus on human resources and have plans for continuation of school for at least one semester subsequent to the internship period. Candidates must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA; have previous work experience, and bring a record of collaboration, motivation and integrity.
Abbvie prefers candidates who work comfortably in a diverse work environment; have outstanding communication, leadership and management capability as well as demonstrated flexibility and originality, and can apply analytical skills to problem solving. No travel will be required of interns.
